WHAT A BUSY DAY!!! (SUCH A SIMPLE THING, YOU'D THINK...)

it seemed fine when i woke up this morning.
i thought i had everything under control...
yeah, right?!?

i had two things planned,
aside from work,
for the day.
getting igraine's stitches removed [finally].
no more annoying sound
while i try to sleep
as she's trying to pull them off with her teeth...
& shop for air conditioner
as my dad requested one for his room
at the old folks home,
since they're too cheap to have central air conditioning...
& i figured i needed one too,
me living in a concrete convection oven.
i figured i could squeeze in igraine's procedure
over lunchtime,
& go shopping after work.
i called the clinic
& the girl told me
it couldn't be done right away,
but rather,
to come at 11:45 am.
so,
i did show up,
all hopeful,
at the clinic...
only to be turned back [nonchalantly] & sent home
by the girl i spoke to on the phone.
she told me to come back in two hours,
as the vet had just started surgery...
i told her
i had to get back to work
& had other matters to take care of.
but to no avail!!
it just was not going to happen,
& it was now too late for me now
to rush to the store
& get those air conditioners
i had seen on the web.
need i say i left the clinic
uttering a quite loud "colisse!!!!"
lucky i didn't give her the full treatment:
"ostie-de-colisse-de-tabarnac-de-crisse!!!!"
i did have to come back after all...
so,
i brought my girl back home
& went back to work...

once my [hectic] day was over,
i just hopped in a cab,
hoping to get to the store quickly,
drop my air conditioner at my place,
& then deliver the other one at my dad's,
hoping to install it
& be done with it.
if only life was SO simple!!!
the driver decided to take a route
that ended up in a [typically] big mid-afternoon traffic jam.
the meter was running
but that was of no real concern to me;
what was though
was the time flying by...
but anyway,
we eventually got there,
me being all pissed off & all,
but at least,
i had reach my goal!!
i went up to customer services,
since i had placed a call in the morning,
after seeing what i wanted on the web last night,
indicated why i was there,
& was given a most proper service.
(BTW: canadian tire,
maisonneuve shopping mall on sherbrooke street,
if you want to know!!)
then i called my favorite cab company,
as an employee brought 2 humongous boxes outside for me.
(100 lbs each,
& the wheels are inside the box...)
oy ve!!
then i called my favorite cab company,
again!!!
but they confirmed the car was on its way.
phew!!
i did mentionned i had 2 big heavy boxes to carry.
seems like the notion of big & heavy was lost on them
as the car driver,
when he saw my boxes,
declined to take me to my destination(s),
saying i needed a van.
i asked him to get in touch with the company
& get me a van.
he did!!!
but then,
he told me
i had to call myself...
so,
i then called [for the third time] my so-called favorite cab company...
to get a van.
thankfully,
when it got there,
the driver was younger & more disposed to help.
so off we went,
first to my place,
then my dad's.
as we reach a certain street,
i thought better
of just stopping by my dad's,
dump the merchandise there
& deal with it another day [like tomorrow, perhaps...].
then off to my place,
so i could perhaps still go to the vet
& have this over with those damn stitches...
only to be pulled off by the cops,
because my driver tried to turn,
but in the wrong lane,
to reach the new destination.
that'll teach him to be so accomodating...
we weren't the only car intercepted
but unfortunately for us,
in the other car were two girls,
scantily clads,
with boobs showing aplenty.
there's no way we could beat this!!
we 're dealing with cops after all here..
oink!!
oink!!
the girls came up with a bullshit story
about the motor smoking...
did i say bullshit?!?
where's the damn smoke then.
but sure enough,
they got away with it,
bouncing their asses & boobs all over the place...
can someone explain to me
why they got out of the car in the first place?
aren't we supposed to remain in our seats?
heck,
it worked in their favor.
so be it.
but my driver,
having no boobs to show for,
ended up with a $157 ticket.
damn!!!
where's a vagina when you need one!!!
so,
off we went,
(on our merry way???),
& reach the residence when my dad lives,
i dumped the appliance in his room,
& rushed out of there,
telling him i was in a rush [obviously],
to get to the vet's
& that a cab was waiting for me downstairs.
he really didn't need to know the details,
did he?!?
&
F-I-N-A-L-L-Y,
i got home,
without any further incident,
& the driver helped me get the appliance
inside the reception aera of the building.
OUF!!
i paid him over double the fare
for his trouble.
he did get that ticket on my account,
somewhat...
anyway!!
i finally reached my appartment,
found some place for the thing there,
& grabbed the phone,
in a last attempt
to succeed fullfilling my plans of the day,
& called the clinic.
yes,
i could go now,
but remember that the clinic closes at 6pm...
i told the [same] girl
i'd be there in two minutes!!
the girl sounded doubtful...
i swear to you,
igraine never got inside her carrier so fast!!!!!!!
& out the door again i went!!!
when i got to the clinic,
the girl seemed nonplussed
about my swearing earlier that day,
& assured me it wouldn't take too long.
indeed!!
10 minutes later,
i was in the room,
trying to get igraine to come out of her carrier.
i think my girl had some [unhappy] flashbacks of the place,
but i finally got her out of there.,
laid her on her back,
& she bravely braced herself,
as the vet gently removed each suture.
i'll say one thing though:
she had more stitches that i had first figured!!!
but she endured it well
& i gladly took her home
& gave hear TWO treats for good behavior.
i don't think
it makes any difference to her,
as long as they keep coming.
this was my day full of aggravations & triumphs!!
(yes, i can be a drama queen. so what ?!?!!)
i'm exhausted now,
even after soaking in my bathtub for a while,
smelling of birch tree,
& enjoying a light but delightful dinner
in front of the tv.
nothing stressful,
just my usual HGTV...
i'm so looking forward to my bed just now...
i guess you do to,
so,
sweet dreams
& see ya all tomorrow!!!
tomorrow,
tomorrow,
is only a day away...
(& it's a day off for me!!)
to think i thought it'd be a breeze today,
& that the job would be the worst part of it all...
yeah, right!!
:)~

*****************************

P.S.
i can't help it!!
i just have to say something about this...
between the vet & my bath,
i attempted to install my air conditioner
by following [which is unusual for me]
the instructions in the manual...
in french!!
[now, that's even more unusual!!!!]
low & behold!!
i didn't understand a damn thing
that was said inthere,
not for the poor quality of my french, but rather,
their's!!!!!!!!!!!
the one that did the translation for that company
should definitely be fired.
what an ass!!!
to confuse my poor tired mind like that.
i finally had to figure it out by myself,
as i was getting annoyed,
reading & re-reading the manual,
but not better off after.
now,
that'll teach me to try getting closer to my roots
& stepping away from my usual habits:
JUST WING IT!!!
it usually works out well for me.
why didn't i stick to it today?
well, it's up & running,
me enjoying a cool breeze...
alright!!
bedtime!!
SNORE!!!!
:D~
