who ever said creatures of the underworld didn't know how to throw a party?? as we are on the eve of all hallows eve, why not join banane metalik for a rocking good time!! have a good weekend!! :)~ HUGZ
well, this is it indeed, as i am now officially vaccinated for the swine flu (H1N1)... despite my reservations on the matter, & the fact that HEALTH CANADA has not finished its testings while still allowing this vaccine to be released.
an almost impromptu session of vaccination at work gave me the opportunity to get it done before leaving for a long weekend. as i said before, i have reservations, but i've been reflecting on the impact these might have. if i were to contract the virus, get sick or even die, not only it would affect me, like death surely is something you can't fail to notice when it happens to you... but it would also affect my father, as i'm the only family taking care of him. not only that: working in the health sector means you're more susceptible to bring it home, unknowingly, & far from me the desire to have anyone around me contract it because of me. so... for your sake... and my own, of course!! i felt the prick of the needle, & suffered my 15 minutes of fame, sitting on that chair under the supervision of a bulldog with a bachelor degree... (i kid you not!!), before i could resume my work and finally enjoy the beginning of a long weekend. for a change, there is no soreness in my shoulder, and the only side effect i have now, (which could be totally unrelated to the vaccine, but i just find it too odd) is: a sudden craving for french fries, with V-I-N-E-G-A-R !!! it's odd as i can't even recall the last time i craved something like this in my whole adult life. not big on vinegar unless it's balsamic... and what would be french fries (with or without the vinegar...) without a "few" steamed hot-dogs? ( with a glass of cabernet-merlot, mind you...)
yeah, i'm sure some of you are calling me names, names related to the lovely lady below... OINK, OINK, OINK!!! a rare moment of indulgence, trust me!! :D~
let's just hope nothing develops in the next few hours, and that this vaccine is indeed effective in protecting me from this damn swine flu... why do i still feel like a guinea pig??? what a week this has been!! i need a holiday!! a long one!!! :D~ HUGZ
P.S.: since this virus is an odd & virulent one, please be prudent, be civilized enough to sneeze discreetly, in your sleeve, rather than letting your bacterias fly off all over everyone, & wash, wash, wash your hands!!! every surfaces you come in contact with, especially in public places, may be contaminated, so please, be careful. it's no laughing matter. let's not get hysterical about this, just sensible. good luck!! :)~
"just a reminder..." like it's been three days i haven't uploaded a new pic for my "daily mugshot"... big deal!!! i do have other things to tend to. so, while enjoying a cigar & reading some stuff on the web, and judging on the look on my face, i was concerned about something... i randomly took pictures, not caring much what it looked like, and i got just what i deserved!!! i'm not getting a date with those pics, that's for sure!!! especially not from those non-smokers... oh well!! my love life goes up in smoke. :)~ HUGZ
do you fancy yourself as quite the handyman/woman? you think you can handle a hammer? well. let's put your skills to shame!! just watch this guy closely and weep!! remember, do not attempt this at home!!
speaking of hammer, here's mc hammer, singing "pray". let's pray you don't end up at the E.R. for attempting the stunt above... :D~ HUGZ
for once, i will not fall for this. after going through the vista nightmare when it was first introduced... (ok, so it's working fine now, but i had to go through SO MUCH aggravations, & paid for it TWICE, as fucking microsoft would not recognise my first install of vista... which was an upgrade from XP...) so, do you really think i'm in any rush to try WINDOWS 7??? NO F&%@#%!G WAY!!! i've had my lesson, the hard way, with microsoft products. they suck big time in the beginning... let's just say i'll wait a while... quite a while!!! trust microsoft???? yeah, right!!! i don't think so... :(~ HUGZ
i hate mondays, for so many reasons... but don't blame the calendar. october the 26th has not always been "bad"...
looking on FLICKR, for pictures tagged "october 26th" of any year, it looks like this date was fun for some, inspiring for others. something must be said about this date: it wasn't always a monday... :D~ HUGZ
in one week now, montrealers will decide on who'll be the next mayor of montreal. but municipal elections are in such a turmoil right now, as there seems to be so much corruption going on all around...
gerald tremblay, incumbent mayor & leader of union montreal, is in his second term, looking for a third. while he has a flair for glam & supports pretty much any project that will set montreal on the map; on local matters, things are not as well as they should be. to be honest, i never liked the guy from the start, just a gut feeling here, despite the fact that his administration proved to be gay-friendly & it benefitted the businesses of the gay village over time. to be fair, he did both good & bad; but i wouldn't mind a change.
louise harel, leader of vision montreal, is a newcomer to municipal politics, but not to politic itself, as she used to be a deputy for the party quebecois, a minister at the provincial level, & the first woman to be speaker at the national assembly in quebec city. her arrival was interesting to me, and she vowed to have a party that acted in full transparency. well... it looks like she has some rotten tomatoes in her own party. that's a shame!! i don't want to claim that all politicians are corrupted, but it seems like they are corruptible, from the look of things. crimes of opportunity?!? i feel so dispirited about this election that i'm considering abstaining from voting. i usually take my civic duty seriously, but at this point, i don't see how i could vote for a party that fails to inspire trust. our tax dollars are at play here and it looks like they're all out to pocket it... i don't wish to elaborate any further on this, and will accept the choice of the majority as, to me, they all look one and the same... :(~
speaking of mayors, please meet yury luzhkov, mayor of moscow. the man came up with the idea to seed the sky over moscow with some chemicals to keep it from snowing over moscow. now THAT is an idea i could support [for montreal], except... he's a well-known homophobe, so there is NO WAY i could vote for such a man...
so, i'll deal with it, threadding the icy snowcovered sidewalks of the city and watching the scandals unfold on the news... business as usual, you would say, right?!?
clouds are gathering over montreal!! and we'll have to live with our sins... may the less awful person win!! (yeah, right!!!...) :(~ HUGZ
LAW ABIDING CITIZEN,
with jamie foxx and gerard butler.
the chance to see gerard's butt,
even if only for 2 seconds,
unless it was a body-double...
was sort of an incentive for me.
what can i say. the flesh is weak!!
but beyond that,
i do need more than a show of flesh to convince me
whether a movie is good or not...
this one barely makes it,
as one shoudn't watch this too rationally,
but rather in a visceral way,
and here's why:
you are assaulted & stabbed,
tied up & gagged,
made to watch your family being tortured
and murdered right in front of you,
left for dead.
except you don't die,
you live to tell your tale,
the cops mean well,
the lawyers & the judge do what they think is best,
but you feel you're not getting justice for the death of your loved ones,
as the one you know is the true murderer
is getting away with murder
because of a deal he strikes with the ambitious self-centered prosecutor.
what do you do?!? WHAT DO YOU DO?!?
you make your own justice, that's what!!
i don't expect this movie to win any award
or to be remembered for far too long...
but it kept me interested if not excited,
and the ending surprised me.
it goes against any constitutional right,
and i like it!!!
i haven't said too much.
you can still see this & enjoy it.
it's an OK movie.
it worked for me.
was it gerard's butt i saw?!?
by Oren Peli.
it should be called instead PARANORMAL INACTIVITY,
as there is significant activity after 86 minutes,
for about half-a-minute,
like 12 minutes before the end of the movie. what is the big hype about?!?
this movie has neither any educational value about paranormal phenomenoms,
nor any entertainment value
as i remained bored the WHOLE f^%#@&g TIME.. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!
i still can't believe i sat the whole way through.
an hysterical woman with delusional paranoia
with a moronic guy "encounter" a phenomenom...
a winning combination. stay away from that one!!
i came across these quotes and decided to create a visual, for better impact; but they speak the truth
that will help you see things differently.
this is surely a new way to see people at large. next time you go on a cleaning spree, it's a whole culture that'll disappears. sneezing on people seems like a generous thing to do... let's get over the swine flu first though, then, go ahead, alright?!? now wouldn't be a good time...
if you ever feel lonely and believe that no one cares about you, that is surely the best way to connect to someone, even if this is definitely not the kind of people you want to keep in touch with... they care only for one thing: $$$$$$$$$$$$
i hope these help you face another day, with a fresh look about this world we live in. :D~ HUGZ
i remember, back to my college days, when we would indulge into the primal scream, during my art class, to clear all anxiety & reach a creative state. i still feel like screaming today, just not for the same reasons... soon leaving for work, after being up all night [as usual...], it's frigging cold, but dry, no rain, no snow, just cold winds ... alright, i'll stop complaining. things could be worse. gladly to see this day over with! but i still feel like screaming. have a great weekend and i'm leaving you here with another kind of "scream", with michael & janet. i'm leaving it to the pros. :)~ HUGZ
unreal !!!!!!!!! aren't we only october the 22nd??? say it isn't so!!!!!!!!! fucking snow falling over montreal right now!!!!!!!!!! OSTIEdeCALISSEdeTABARNACdeCALVAIREdeCRISSE... (& j'en passe!!) if that's the global warming for you, i can't wait for the next ice age... FUCK!!!! :(~ HUGZ (still) it's not your fault, is it?!?
the olympic flame will now be leaving the cradle of the olympic games, mount olympus, amidst celebrations to make its way to vancouver, b.c., canada who will be hosting the winter olympic & paralympic games of 2010. that already is enough to feel pride as the best athletes of the world, representing a myriad of countries, creeds, races, will gather to give their best performances, dreaming of a gold medal.
to fuel this pride further more, those relay torchs that will bring the flame to vancouver are made here in quebec by bombardier, and what a cool design this is.
in the meantime, people in winnipeg are getting busy at the royal canadian mint, making those medals that will crown those achievements we'll be witnessing this winter. i believe they are the best medals ever, W-O-R-L-D-W-I-D-E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can you tell i just love winter olympics?!? i sure do!!!! and i hope athletes and visitors will be enchanted while visiting our country. :)~ HUGZ
i've always been fascinated by scents, exotic ones especially, like vetiver, amber, patchouli and sandalwood, among others.
i grew up in a house where you could always find some sandalwood soaps, and i've kept the tradition up, as i still use those to this day.
exotic, yet still discreet, it always makes bathtime a delightful experience, and it blends well with the perfumes i like to wear.
yes, i do love sandalwood soap, but there is one thing i've failed to mention so far:
as a young child, i thought these soaps were made out of the wood of sandals!!! can you imagine the piles of old sandal shoes at the factory, waiting to go through some obscur distillation process to produce those soaps??? boy!! i tell 'ya, a boy's imagination will never stop to amaze me... :D~ HUGZ
i did mention before about a job i wouldn't want right HERE, and here you have another one today. look at that, a flimsy cage held up by a cable & manoeuvered by the crane... oh joy! i'm already crapping my pants just watching this. (well, not really, but you know...) as far as job opportunity goes, i'll have to decline. though i'm glad they're saving the building as i thought in the beginning that it would be torn down to give room for the new mega-hospital. it's a relief to see our architectural heritage still means something to some people, and the St-Sauveur church will be integrated as it was done with the university close-by. nice to know!! :)~ HUGZ
