Why do you drivers insist on taking your car to the downtown district?!?
It makes no sense!!!
Most outdoor parking lots are being turned into condo buildings,
and indoor parking comes at a price and is mostly full all year long.
I have colleagues that arrive from one to two hours before their shift
to find a parking space on the street.
Between all of the construction sites,
the repairs by the city and those vignettes restricting parking to local residents only,
you either have to settle for a parking that is still at a great distance from your destination
or you have to face one of those dreaded parking meters...
It is financially suicidal to take your car downtown,
I tell ya!!!
(and I do not sympathize the least, as a pedestrian...)

ReplyDeleteOnly so you can complain about it! :P~

I don't complain about the lack of parking space since I don't need it myself.
DeleteBut the number of times people stop their car and ask us where they can park is amazing,
if not appalling. It is clear the demand far exceeds what is available.

Especially if Montreal has a good transit system, I too can't understand why people use their cars to go to work. There ought to be a tax given to those who choose to do so.....we have to start somewhere cutting back on fuel emissions and pollution on this planet. That time will come I think.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Amen!!!
