Now I know what Hell is as it was in my head,
afflicting me with a migraine that lasted a few days now.
I decided to venture to the E.R. yesterday,
waited for a few hours,
only to be put in isolation in a small room!!
Not my idea of fun...
I was hoping for a prescription and a couple of days off
since I feel ever so exhausted and sickly.
It looks like I had indeed a migraine
possibly with a strand of Influenza not included in the vaccine I got last November.
Just my luck!!!
Feeling the need to come home [for my own sake and] to take care of my cats,
I finally asked for my discharged in the morning.
I was told the usual:
Tylenols, lots of fluid and some rest.
So I won't be working either today nor tomorrow,
as I definitely need to rest.
I still feel shaky as soon as I try to do anything,
my concentration is totally off.
Still got dizzy spells and nausea.
Can't figure out what to eat at this point as I'm really not hungry.
If the migraine has abated somewhat,
the flu is still in full swing!!!
That's the only thing swinging around here.
I've fed the cats and patted them some,
and I will now crawl into bed.
Pity!!
It's a beautiful day out there,
but one I can't bear looking at.
Hurts my brain!!!
Losing partially my vision last Friday was no fun,
and I won't do anything to jeopardize that...

How about some bouillon? My mother swears by the stuff! I would make you some home-made chicken soup if I were nearby, Bruno.

Yeah, that's what I thought yesterday and had a bowl in the afternoon,
Deleteand felt nauseated afterward. Go figure!! I'll keep it to simple fare,
nothing fancy or spicy, for sure...
A nice thought, and you're near, but just near enough...
That's OK!!

So sorry to hear. We have a wonderful remedy of boiling squeezed lemons (you can add honey if too sour) but drink it all and eat as much of the lemons as you can- he works wonders almost immediately for sore throats! My hubby even eats part of the cooked peel as well. Hope you're back on your feet soon!
ReplyDeleteTried it last night!!
DeleteI drank it all and munched on the pieces to extract the juice
but I didn't really chew them up, nor did I swallow.
I'm pretty much a "pulp free" kind of guy.
Pulp disgusts me like you wouldn't believe.
Funny, considering the various I've eaten in my life,
the kind that other people find disgusting,
and I have no problem with those...
I bought enough lemons to give this a try for the next few days.
I can't remember ever buying that many lemons all at once!!!
:D~

There really is nothing else you can do until it passes. But you're doing the right thing in crawling into bed and keeping hydrated. I haven't had flu in years but the memory still hurts!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to be able to say this is only a memory,
Deleteeven one that "hurts"...
:D~

Take Care Pal.
ReplyDeleteWill do, Sir, will do!!!

My wife has bad migraines. They come once a week and can last for days. Zomig (Zolmitriptan) is the only thing that makes her life endurable, and, guess, what? The cost is 1/5 as much in Canada (her 3 month prescription costs $550 here in the U.S.)
ReplyDeleteA little beyond my means right now,
Deletebut certainly something to consider,
given its persistence...
It's now been a week today that I've been ailing.

I feel so badly for you! I hope that you get better very soon. Do you have anybody who can bring you some food ... chicken soup really does help somehow.
ReplyDeleteSending you hugs and prayers for a quick recovery.
Kathy M.
Ah, Kathy, your sympathy will have to do as,
Deleteno,
no chicken soup brought by an angel for me...
Sigh...
Just me and my kittens here.
And they're not much help in that regard,
but they do make me smile sometimes...

My!!

you know...
Pense plus fort, je t'entends presque!!!
A+

Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! One week and counting...
DeleteOh well!!

oh Bruno.... so sorry you are feeling the yucks!
ReplyDeleteHot tea with some soup is always a good thing to get going through your system..... pretty easy to make the soup if you have any broth or chicken lying around...
Wish I was closer... I'd bring it to you and then you wouldn't be so lonely!
<3
Not much in the cooking mood so it's all store bought,
Deletebut I have chicken noodle soup on Sunday, and felt more nauseous afterward.
Not quite what I was hoping for...
I can feel myself burning up right now but in exactly 2 hours,
I'll be at work to face the disaster zone that's been piling up in my absence.
If the migraine and the flu didn't kill me,
this might!!
T'was nice to know you!!!
:D~

Hoping you are a little better at this point Bruno and are being very gentle with yourself and doing what the doctor has suggested.
ReplyDeleteGoing back to work this morning.
DeleteWish me luck!!
I feel like crap but I got to go back now...
At least, the weather won't make the journey any more difficult.
That's already something!!

I hope you are feeling better by now...Do you know a deli that makes chicken soup? That might help keep you hydrated. BTW, my neighbor has gone for good.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't exactly say that I'm feeling better now,
Deletebut rather that I'm feeling not as worse as a week ago.
I'm very pleased to hear she's gone!!
I remember how worried you were [and for good reasons!!].
I see 2013 is off to a good start for you.
