I went out for a smoke this morning,
and looking around,
I could only feel the dreariness of the day,
feeling no motivation whatsoever to take any pictures so,
I took out my cellphone to take this one above.
A lousy cellphone pic that I toyed around with
to enhance the only color I could see,
a nightmare made up of detour signage and orange cones.
I'm not the only one living in this nightmare...
But this had a positive effect on me,
as I decided that over lunch,
I should look for colorful things.
I ended up in some empty back alley.
Not quite my style to wander in such places...
but it held a nice surprise for me
as I found out that part of one of the university's pavilion has this colorful shape to it.
I felt happy at this discovery.
a few pigeons were freezing their butt off just above this red wall.
Gotta feel sorry for those poor things...
Even these smokestacks had a certain appeal in my opinion.
Is that the photographer's common sense talking,
or a hint of despair?!?
I then proceeded to slip in between large garbage containers and a wall
only to discover a graffiti there in this small enclosure.
The only problem was that this was the place where every wind gusts came to die,
with a vengeance!!!
You can even see it in the picture,
I have stepped into unfamiliar territories,
for your benefit and my pleasure.
The sacrifices one has to make...
In a more respectable situation,
I took this picture of the Dandurand Building
as I intend to eventually speak about it on Sepia Saturday.
So I am gathering various material about it,
and having recent photos will help.
I already had a full length picture of the building,
but it does help to have some interesting details worth focusing on.
I noticed their windows were dirty
and I thought I'd clean them up with Photoshop,
but then decided against it.
I don't do windows,
not even virtually!!!
The day is now over and to make it all perfect,
I got myself a bag of Doritos.
I know, I know!!
But you hand me a bag of these
and I am in sheer heaven!!!
For a day that looked bleak,
it turned out better than expected.
How was YOUR day?!?
