It was supposed to rain today and it did during the night,
so I brought a rain jacket [for nothing].
The sky cleared up enough to make this an enjoyable day.
It became enjoyable only at lunchtime
as I had to cram up a 8-hours workload into 5
since I was working only half-a-day...
You try that and let me know how you felt afterwards...
I was nauseous on my way to the restaurant due to the stress.
As I said,
clouds stopped being a threat,
staying on their best behavior as the wind carried them away.
As I was smoking in front of the restaurant,
I looked at the tree facing it
and loved the way the blossoms were dancing in the wind,
caressed by the sun rays.
Something else caught my attention.
It is unusual for me to photograph people
but this one was amusing to me:
a man with two umbrellas!!
given the fair weather,
that he was taking these two home
for less fortunate mornings...
I was going to the restaurant to celebrate my 25 years of service.
It was a free lunch so I shouldn't bitch,
but if the soup was fine,
the main course [calamari] came with a single [meager] serving of greens.
Dessert wasn't bad but it definitely lacked panache...
and they were cheap on the wine,
hardly filling my glass up to even a third of the glass.
Just your run-of-the-mill coffee...
but since I didn't pay...
And I'm sure it was somewhat pricey!!!
Not going back on my own with friends.
We were gathered there to celebrate those with 25-30-35-40 years of service.
I was in the "25 years" category.
This is what you get!!
One thing that amused me:
It's set for the 8th when we're the 9th.
One thing that didn't amused me once I got home:
It's still too big!!
I gave them the measurement for my wrist,
I know I did!!!
I took my time getting home,
enjoying the sun and the breeze,
looking at the trees that have started to blossom.
I'd love to stick my face in there,
getting drunk on the fragrance.
Some tulips that survived the assaults of local dogs
because their owners are too stupid to control them.
These appear fine,
but right next to these,
others were trampled to a pulp,
putting an end to their already short career...
Some people just have no respect!!
Usually a welcomed sight,
and I've tried to show you here the best of it,
but the trees seemed,
I don't know,
sickly or too dry?!?
Many branches carried lilac already turning to brown,
all dried up...
a hectic morning,
but a day that is ending quite smoothly.
The lunch was unimpressive
but I was in fine company,
A watch I can't wear [for the moment],
but I don't usually wear one anyway,
One day left and this week will be over.
