A DAY OF COLOR AND CONTRAST (270/365 DAYS, 3.0)

Color and contrast...
There was plenty of that today!!

The sun hurt my eyes when it rose,
shining brightly behind the bridge.
You'll notice it is rising now clearly behind it,
not to the left as it did all Summer,
and it will rise behind the island this winter,
clearly to the right.
There's no avoiding it,
winter is coming even if this day was most comfortable.

The sunlight highlighted the industrial lines on a rooftop.
I toned it down for your viewing pleasure.

If I felt quiet on this Sunday morning,
the city on the other hand was abuzz with activity.
As some walked for a cause today (the annual walk-a-thon of the Farha Fondation),
I walked for my cause,
PHOTOGRAPHY!!
Here's one who's not afraid of contrast...
I call this
"The House of the Colorblind Man"
and for good reason!!
The neighbors must have been quite pleased when they saw this...
But to its defense,
it's turned a rather plain street into a very lively one!!

Another contrast is between Nature's beauty as the sun filters through the branches,
and clothes hanging out to dry on a clothesline...

While taking that previous picture,
there was a cat behind/above me on a window ledge
and I swear,
I heard it say "Maman!!"...
No kidding!!
It was unreal!!!

Shadows cast across a staircase forming gentle arabesques.

Ending this post the way I started it,
with the bridge, MY bridge!!
Here you have 3 or 4 [I forgot how many...] pictures merged into one.
I was surprised by the traffic this early on a Sunday morning.
I guess some folks had plans in the city...
I had no plans for today,
other than  resting and sharing these with you.
Done, and done!!!
:D~

  2. I like the "House of the Color-Blind Man." We once had a neighbor (fortunately two blocks away) who painted his entire house (including trim, mailbox, and anything else that was nailed down) a really sickly shade of aqua crossed with teal. Then he hung red curtains in all the windows. Ugh!

    1. Perhaps the neighbors could have raised some money to buy him some acid green curtains.
I find that would have been a better fit...
      :D~
