CURVES (297/365 DAYS, 3.0)

Second part of those pictures taken or influenced by my visit
at the Place des Arts in Montreal last Saturday.
You'll notice my pictures have taken a near abstract aspect lately.
I seem to be in an exploratory mood.
I hope you'll be in the mood to explore this with me.

"Lights and Shadows"
What appears purely abstract is actually a barely enhanced picture of the ceiling
above the entrance of the Wilfrid Pelletier Concert Hall
I love the simplicity of those lines,
capturing the light in the depth of its curves
as shadows pour out of these alveoli.

"The Ghost in the Machine"
You may wonder how this is related to the PdA
and you'd be almost right.
I used a picture I took last August of a metallic installation
and merged it to a picture of a floating ghostly hand I captured in that corridor of the PdA
during their continuous projection;
turned all of this into a sphere and added texture,
and voila!!
The creep factor is possibly influenced by the oncoming Halloween,
and you'd wonder why
since I was never big on that holiday...
Not big on dressing up,
but sure not shy about creating spooky visions sometimes.
I do have a few things in mind for the coming days.
Stay tuned!!
:)~

  2. If the acoustics in that hall are as stunning as that ceiling then it must be a wonderful place to experience live.
    Great photo Bruno.
The second photo looks like the marbles I used to play with as a child. The photo has a 'cosmic' effect as well. Nice.

    1. This is only the entrance. The actual room is quite something itself!!
Over the years, I've seen many fine shows there,
opera singers, symphonic orchestras, ballet (modern and classical)
and many contemporary artists. And I know exactly where to sit in each case.
It is a grand concert hall [still], even though we now have a Maison Symphonique
next door for our Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal. I have yet to visit this one.
Apparently, it is quite impressive itself. I do like its design from the outside.
